hudson valley farm

If I could live anywhere, it would be on a farm… mainly to take in a vista of bucolic, rolling hills and golden light at sunset and leafy, soft trees.  Even more, I’ve always loved the gentle nostalgia that farmhouses tend to evoke. Show me a classic country house and I want to curl up on the worn-in sofa or linger in the kitchen cooking buttermilk pancakes.  Needless to say, I couldn’t stop staring at pictures of Gil Schafer’s Hudson Valley Farm. Not only is the house gorgeous, but it’s hard to believe that it’s new construction. Instead of looking sterile and foreboding, both the exterior and interior have the subtle patina that typically takes centuries to emerge.  Chintz, farmhouse sinks, mahogany… and that view! When can I move in?
